Re-Abled Fighter – Carl Hodgetts | MMP Talks
3rd Degree Black Belt, Martial Arts Instructor Carl Hodgetts was born with two debilitating diseases – Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus.
His parents were told that he would not live more than 12 months. He went on to defy the odds, by learning how to walk using a frame by the age of 2, swim and play the guitar by the age of 4, having survived septacemia twice and endured numerous operations to stay alive.
At a very early age Carl discovered he was a fighter and went onto learning and excel in Freestyle Karate, becoming an instructor, attaining a 3rd-degree black belt and starting his own martial arts school.
